Exhibition
unvereinbar – zusammen

Opening on Friday, 19 June 2026 at 7 pm

Kunstverein Quickborn, Kieler Straße 149, 25451 Quickborn, Germany

In her exhibition unvereinbar - zusammen Petra Kost explores the tensions between being human, a sense of place, and belonging in a world shaped by constant change. Her paintings move between landscapes, fragmented architectural forms, and inner pictorial spaces in which human figures appear both present and distant.

The works bring experiences of loss and searching into focus – the loss of places, relationships, and certainties. From this repeatedly arises the question of one’s place in the world: Where do we belong? What holds when familiar certainties begin to fracture?

Kost’s paintings open spaces of paradox. Proximity and isolation, hope and doubt, connection and solitude exist simultaneously. Within the coexistence of these opposites, pictorial spaces emerge in which questions of belonging, loss, and human connection unfold again and again.

Exhibition hours: Saturday, 20 June 2026, 2–6 pm and Sunday, and 21 June 2026, 11 am – 5 pm

see me | Petra Kost | 2026

In the exhibition see me Petra Kost explores paradoxes – what is visible and what we may choose to withdraw from. Figures that push forward, act or evade encounter abstract structures reminiscent of landscapes and natural processes. The works open up spaces in which complexity, ambiguity and the unnameable find their place – between closeness and distance, control and letting go, the human and the organic.

Through the combination of figurative and abstract pictorial elements, a quiet dialogue emerges with the surrounding space. The works enter into a relationship with the Scandinavian-inspired furniture design and the carefully composed spatial setting of gute räume. This balance between formal clarity and atmospheric depth invites viewers not only to look, but to perceive with all their senses – embracing the contradictions that run through our lives.

Duration of the exhibition until April 11, 2026
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm
